:: Massage for Acute & Chronic Pain
OSA's therapists include professionals devoted to providing quality massage therapy. Through our combined years of education and experience, we have an incredible toolbox to choose from in helping our clients increase their range of movement, reduce muscular pull that distorts the posture and creates pain, reeducate the their body to positively alter pain patterns, reduce painful trigger areas, increase circulation and energy flow, and to simply soften tight musculature. Our chronic and acute therapies are outlined below:
- Combination Therapy
It is not atypical for a combination of therapies to be incorporated into your session. For instance the *NMT may include some myofascial (see below); the Swedish may include some stretching, etc. Our objective is always to accommodate your needs each time you see us and one modality might not be all you require in a session.
30, 60, or 90 minutes: $40, $75, or $110 (MT $35, $70, or $105) - Massage with Stretching Techniques
Sometimes our joints feel as if they’re stuck into position, hampering our movement. Active and Passive stretching techniques help free your joints, thus improving your movement. Active stretches are those in which your therapist instructs you to participate in the movement; passive indicates that he/she does the movement while you remain as relaxed as possible. Both are employed in this wonderfully freeing type of therapy, along with massage. Ahhh, to move again!
60 or 90 minutes: $75 or $110 - Migraine Therapy
Cold marble, aromatherapy, and acupressure (finger pressure) techniques make up this therapy designed specifically for the unique properties of a migraine headache. Unlike a tension headache, migraines produce a dilation of blood vessels. Therefore, cold is indicated to reduce blood flow thus slowing down, or even eliminating the migraine while you’re in the throes!
30 – 45 Min $55 ($50 MT) - Myofascial Massage
Myo meaning muscle; fascial meaning fascia (connective tissue within and around all of our muscle fibers). Myofascial massage is a lightly lubricated or even dry massage that allows the therapist to affect the very deep fibers of the soft tissues for a greater release. This therapy is terrific for those in chronic or acute pain and who typically do not see results from even deep tissue massage.
30, 60, or 90 minutes: $40, $75, or $110 - Neuromuscular Therapy
Clients with chronic pain or injuries benefit from neuromuscular therapy (*NMT). The therapy includes a structural evaluation which shows the therapist the precise muscles causing your postural anomalies and therefore, contributing to your pain. The length of time varies between 45 and 75 minutes, depending on your needs at the time.
45 – 75 minutes: $80 (MT $75)
